Scratch

Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is provided free of charge.   http://scratch.mit.edu

With Scratch,  our 4th grade students learned about the Cartesian Coordinate System.   The objective of the program:

  • have a sprite (character)  jump to a quadrant
  • change colors
  • make a sound
  • identify the x and y values of the quadrant
